Branch Manager
John joined us in 2025 having previously worked for Esab for a number of years as their sales engineer responsible for Wales and the South West. Obviously John is a natural fit for us and brings with him a wealth of knowledge of all things welding. John is exacting on detail and runs a tight ship, he is also a formidable golfer and brings the same competitive spirit to running the branch that he displays on the golf course.
Area Sales Manager
Mark Bailey joined Wellington Welding Supplies in April 2010 fresh from a stint with another local welding distributor who was going through some rather awkward times. Mark is a big fan of Kemppi equipment and has clocked up quite an impressive number of sales. Mark as can be seen from his photo is a quiet, retiring sort of an individual and anyone who knows him will recognise this description. Away from work Mark is a keen family man and enjoys surfing holidays in Cornwall with his wife Amy and his two sons who also race mini-motor bikes adorned with Wellington Welding logos.
Sales Engineer
Matt joined Wellington Welding Supplies in 2024 coming from a industrial engineering background so is always happy to provide hands on support. Matt covers a good portion of Somerset and Bristol including Avonmouth and is responsible for supporting many large customers. Matt has an easy going manner but is incredibly helpful when asked and will always go the extra mile for any customer.
Away from work Matt is a true family man and likes to be active with his young family.
Service Engineer
Stephen joined Wellington Welding Supplies in September 2016. Prior to this Stephen worked in a number of roles relating to Marine Seismic work which included life offshore and abroad, having spent time in Colombia and Australia. Stephen has a BSc Degree in Electronic Design and has taken to his current role with great aptitude and enthusiasm. Away from work Stephen has a daughter Abby with his long standing partner Becky.
Stores / Warehouse Supervisor
Gary Ellis joined Wellington Welding Supplies in January 2020 as our main delivery driver for the Avonmouth depot. Prior to joining us, he spent a few years in record management, this involved both storage and delivery of records to hospitals, solicitors offices and the like and was based in Avonmouth. When not at work Gary likes to spend quality time with his young 4 year old daughter and going to the gym, presumably not at the same time. He also admits to liking Go Karting and Chelsea FC. He currently lives in Weston Super Mare and thinks the daily commute to Avonmouth is not the worst commute possible. Some may beg to differ.
Warehouse & Trade Counter Assistant
Jim joined us in 2025 and has become an integral part of the back office sales team ensuring sales orders are processed and kept on track efficiently and timely. Prior to joining us James studied at university and then became a welder, an unusual mix of the academic and the hands on.
James has fitted in seamlessly to the team at Avonmouth and is reliable and courteous in all his dealings.
In a word a pleasure to seal with.
Internal Sales Assistant
Shane joined us in 2025 having already done a previous stint with us. During his time away he worked as an assistant Store Manager at Lidl and gained valuable real life experience. We are delighted to welcome Shane back onto the team at Avonmouth and he will be reassuming his front line roll having forgotten nothing from his previous time with us.
Van Driver
Geoff joined Wellington Welding Avonmouth in 2024 and was proactive in seeking employment. He made a direct approach requesting an interview despite being at an age when many workers would be reaching for their pipe and slippers. In short he wants to keep active and we applaud his efforts. He supports deliveries out of Avonmouth.
Van Driver
Mark joined us in 2024 and is the cheery face of deliveries made out of the Avonmouth depot. He works full time and is reliable and punctual.
